UAS Activity Authorization Cheat Sheet

May 7, 2016

Confused over what authorization you need to fly a drone in the UC system?

The Center of Excellence on Unmanned Aircraft System Safety has published the first Campus UAS Activity Authorization Cheat Sheet.

This living document lists which authorizations are needed for some of the most common scenarios. For example, student club activities may be covered under model aircraft authorization and Section 333 exemption authorization, but not under a Public COA authorization. Research projects may be covered under a Public COA and Section 333, but not model aircraft.

See the cheat sheet for more details.
