UC Merced is proposing a new policy on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Model Aircrafts. The policy applies to UC Merced faculty and staff members, students and non-affiliates, including third-party contractors and hobbyists operating or planning to operate UAS or model aircrafts for any purpose on or above university-owned or leased property.
This policy is intended to promote safe operation of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and model aircrafts while meeting the University's regulatory compliance and reporting requirements.
The proposed policy is posted on the Draft Policies Posted for Comment section of the Office of Campus Culture and Compliance website.
Employees covered by this policy who wish to provide comments may submit them to the UC Merced Office of Campus Culture and Compliance by June 13 by emailing policy@ucmerced.edu.
